Fire causes damage at Ayscoughfee Gardens in Spalding
A fire has damaged trees to a popular town garden.
Burn marks were discovered at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens in Spalding last week.
The damage is thought to have been caused by a disposable barbecue and has left scorch marks on the branches to nearby trees and on the ground.
Barbecues are not permitted on the site and staff have asked visitors to keep this in mind before stopping by.
On a social media post Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens stated: “This could have been much worse so for the safety of the gardens and its visitors, please remember that barbecues are not permitted anywhere within our grounds.
“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
