Donington fireworks display raises £2,520
Villagers raised thousands of pounds for a good cause while watching a stunning fireworks display.
More than 500 people went along to the Improving the Donington Environment for All's (IDEA) display on Friday last week.
Donington firefighters set off the fireworks on the village's community centre field.
The event has raised a fantastic £2,520 for Flinders Park.
Parish councillor Gill Lunn, who is a member of IDEA, was thrilled with the response to the display.
She said: "We are really pleased and grateful to the firefighters for their support along with the people who came along."
IDEA is also running a village lottery, which costs £12 a year. To join contact Coun Lunn by calling 07950362921.
The group is also looking for an editor for its newsletter along with hoping to attract more helpers.
