South Holland youngsters had fun at Spalding Funtopia

Families thanked Funtopia organisers for coming to Spalding following its successful event at the weekend.

The children’s festival, which visited the district for the first time, went down a storm with lots of people attending on the day.

Sarah Green, company director at Funtopia, said: “We tour every year and this was a new location for us but we would definitely like to revisit again in the future.

“We really enjoyed it, it was a nice location and overall was a nice pleasant event.”

On the day, children and families could enjoy the new obstacle course, role play zones, giant water fight, family sports day, the under 5s area, sumo mats and so much more.

The festival also featured an autism friendly area which proved popular by visitors.

The designated space was limited in numbers with no music and included sensory activities and a giant bubble making area.

Sarah said: “The autism friendly event was quite a laid back session. We have noticed the autism crowd are always very grateful and pleased we have put something on for them as that seems to be a demographic that always gets ignored.

“We received lots of positive comments and quite a few people were asking when we would be coming back, lots of people also came up to us thanking us for coming to Spalding.”
