First look inside the new Raymond Mays Wetherspoon pub opening in Bourne
A new town pub is opening on Tuesday (June 7) and reporter Chloe Butler was invited in for a preview.
The Raymond Mays in North Street, Bourne, is themed around the town's motor racing hero, who lived in the town and developed British Racing Motors.
There are models and memorabilia dotted around the pub, and the sign outside features a racing car and chequered flags.
In the beer garden there is a plaque detailing a potted history of Raymond's life, and dates of races that were significant in his rise to fame are highlighted around the walls inside.
For those whose interest is more focused on the drinks available, the pub will serve big-name beers on draught as well as Belgian Leffe and pints from the Worthington Brewery.
Stowford Press cider and wines will be on tap, and people can also buy hot drinks.
Abigail Herdman, area manager for JD Wetherspoon, said: "All of us are really buzzing about the opening - we have been talking about this pub for about seven years now.
The contractors have done an outstanding job. This is a pub for everyone."
