Holbeach United coach is raising money for good causes with a parachute jump
As charity fundraisers go it ranks among the most extreme, but football coach Cliff Staff can’t wait to throw himself out of a plane and fulfil a lifelong ambition of making a parachute jump.
The dad-of-three, from Saracen’s Head, will be completing the daredevil feat on Saturday, March 9 at Sibson Airfield, Peterborough, when he makes his tandem jump from around 13,000 feet up.
He has set himself the challenge to help to raise funds for Holbeach United U12 Yellows, the team he manages, and Little Miracles, a charity supporting families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
“I’ve never done anything like this before, although I’ve always wanted to do a parachute jump,’ says plasterer, Cliff (36), who is married to Danni, and dad to Ollie (14), Jackson (12) and Penelope (7). “It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do, but until now never gotten around to.
“I’m really excited about it, although a little nervous obviously, but I’m not scared of heights at all, and I know I will feel amazing afterwards.”

Cliff only began fundraising last week and has already collected more than £200. He hopes to raise around £500 in all and says the final sum will be split between the charity and the football team, in which his son Jackson plays.
“I wanted to do the parachute jump for charity and will use the money raised for the team to buy some new equipment, or kit and Little Miracles is a great local charity to support. It would be great to raise a good sum for both. I can’t wait to do it.”
