Moulton Seas End driver given a fresh disqualification after being stopped by police in Spalding's London Road

A banned driver was found behind the wheel just over two months into his one-year disqualification.

Builder Thanasi Greenfield (27) was in a works van which was stopped by police in Spalding’s London Road for a faulty headlight on November 3.

Boston Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday that he had been banned on August 27 for drink-driving.

Greenfield, of Washway Road, Moulton Seas End, admitted driving while disqualified and having no insurance for the VW Crafter.

Solicitor Carrie Simpson, mitigating, said her client was taking his mum home in a works van.

“He’d recently lost his father and, in essence, wasn’t himself, wasn’t thinking straight,” she added.

“He made a bad decision on that day. He assures me he hasn’t been driving on any other occasions.”

Greenfield was given a fresh disqualification of 13 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £48 victim surcharge.
