Future of Moulton Park secured - now public encouraged to take part in community clean-up

The future of Moulton Park has been secured for community use.

Following its recent purchase by The John and Maureen Biggadike Foundation, a public meeting was held at Moulton Community Centre.

More than 150 residents were told that the park will not be built on, and will instead be developed into a recreational space for the community.

The park is expected to open by late spring and will be managed by a newly-established management committee operating as a separate charity.

During the meeting, the committee outlined the necessary planning conditions that must be met before the park can officially open.

These include the installation of a car park, secured access for vehicles, a designated pedestrian access point near the village, picnic benches, litter bins, and bird and bat boxes.

Residents of Moulton and the surrounding areas had the opportunity to review the proposed park layout, along with plans submitted by Moulton Parish Council for the play equipment set to be installed within the designated play area of Moulton Park.

The meeting also provided a way for residents to share their ideas and suggestions for the park’s future development, which will be shaped by fundraising efforts and available grant funding.

To keep residents informed about the process of Moulton Park, the management committee has launched a Facebook page - Moulton Park Lincolnshire - and an Instagram account named Moulton Park Lincs.

A dedicated website is also in development to provide updates on park progress and future plans.

As part of the park’s development, residents were encouraged to volunteer for a community clean-up day March 22, and to assist with ongoing park maintenance.

Anyone interested in volunteering or sharing ideas for the park’s future is asked to contact the management committee at moultonparklincs@gmail.com.
