Future of Spalding Festival is unclear

The future of Spalding Festival is unclear.

Volunteers from Spalding and District Round Table, with help from Spalding Ladies Circle, organise the popular event which attracts thousands of people each year to enjoy the atmosphere and live music.

Members of the committee will be meeting later this week to discuss the event.

The music festival has been running for around seven years at Spalding’s Castle Sports Complex and last year’s record-breaking event raised more than £50,000 for good causes.

Organisers saw an increase in attendance from people who wanted to enjoy performances by The Hoosiers, Liberty X, and Abz from Five.

South Holland District Council was recently granted planning permission to transform the ageing leisure centre and swimming pool into a new health and wellbeing hub.

The round table also recently took on the Santa’s Sleigh Run from Spalding Rotary Club.
