Nasty Nick Cotton, Boycie and On The Buses star at Geekmania in Spalding

More than 2,500 character-loving fans attended Geekmania at Springfields over the weekend.

Hundreds of visitors donned outfits and make-up to take part in cosplay parades and activities on the stage.

Star guests included John Altman - Nasty Nick Cotton in EastEnders; Ian McNeice, who played Winston Churchill in Dr Who; Anna Karen, who played Olive Rudge in '70s favourite, On The Buses and Aunt Sal in EastEnders; author Alistair Wilkinson; actors Clem So and Colin Spaull, who have been in Dr Who and John Challis, best known as Boycie in Only Fools and Horses.

Organiser Mark Longman said: "Our aim was to make the weekend inclusive for all ages and I believe we managed to achieve this judging by the happy faces.

"Our special guests all enjoyed their time in Spalding and were pleased to see all the visitors that joined in the fun.

"We’re already working on next year's event, which is on Sunday February 23, and we're looking at making Geekmania a single-day event in Spalding twice a year, venue availability permitting, so fingers crossed we can find a second date.

"Next year, we’ll have some new features to add to the day, but these are all top secret for now, so you’ll have to wait and see, but we aim to keep the show evolving."
