WH Brand in Whaplode Drove offering unleaded petrol at 159.9p per litre
A petrol station is hoping to help residents battle the cost of living crisis by lowering its prices.
WH Brand in Whaplode Drove is selling unleaded petrol at 159.9p per litre today - and diesel at 179.9p.
Martyn Brand, a director at the Broadgate car dealer, says the station is happy to put its costs down during challenging times.
"We're just buying it at the right price I guess," he said.
"We're looking after our local community, and at the moment with the cost of living rocketing sky high, we're just doing our best to keep our prices low.
"We can sustain that at the minute. It obviously has other spin-offs because we sell new MG cars - we're an MG franchise dealer - so that helps footfall onto the premises.
"Being a little bit rural, it's good that we do pull people in. We're not totally reliant on making a profit out of petrol.
"With having the lower prices, that brings people in - which gives us more footfall."
In Spalding, Sainsbury's is selling unleaded petrol at 174.9p per litre today (Friday).
