Spalding gym gets a revamp including a new Spin Studio

Gym goers will be getting in a spin about improvements made to a South Holland Leisure Centre.

A spin studio along with a new free weights area and an extended group exercise programme are some of the changes made to the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding.

Lex Leisure has made the changes as well as giving the building a facelift since taking over the management of the Spalding site and The Peele Leisure Centre in Long Sutton ten months ago.

Contract manager Tommy Fairweather said: "We’re pleased with the changes but, more importantly, there has been a positive response from centre users and we’ve seen membership grow and usage increasing month-by-month.

"The new spin studio is proving a big hit.

"Our aim is to build on this throughout the coming year."

The firm has created a new spin studio, in a shared space with the creche, which will feature seven instructor-led classes along with a further 16 virtual classes each week.

Additional spin bikes have also been purchased to give more people the opportunity to have a go at this popular exercise.

Other improvements which have taken place at Spalding include the creation of a new free weights area, with an extensive range of new weights.

Additional resistance equipment has also been purcahsed for the gym.

The dryside of the complex has also been redecorated and new energy efficient boilers.

Mr Fairweather said: "Investment will continue at both sites and details will be announced when projects are ready to proceed."

The Peele Leisure Centre in Long Sutton also offers an extensive range of exercise classes, including combat, pilates, Step and Legs, Bums and Tums as well as HIIT and spinning.
