The giant 4.5kg Toblerone has been sold at the Cadbury Outlet store in Springfields Outlet Shopping and Leisure, Spalding




The extra large 4.5 kilogram Toblerone bar has now been sold - after one customer rushed to the store five minutes before closure to buy it.

Staff members at the Cadbury Outlet in Springfields Outlet Shopping and Leisure,Spalding were left in shock after a step-dad dashed into the store at 5.55pm last night (Monday, February 19) and bought the £75 giant chocolate bar.

Assistant manager Andrea Leigh said: “When he said that he had come to buy the Toblerone, I just laughed because I didn’t think he was being serious – I was so shocked.

“The customer said he was getting it for his step-son’s birthday and he told me - ‘I have seen it online and I couldn’t let go, I just had to come down and get it.’

The 78cm long Toblerone bar, which had only recently been a new addition to the store, is made up of 10.4cm high triangles and was the only one available at the Cadbury Outlet in Spalding.

Andrea added: “It’s been an absolute hit on the internet, people have been visiting the store just to see the Toblerone. We have definitely had an increase in customers because of it, everyone has been talking about it.

“We didn’t think it would sell this quickly – it’s been brilliant.”

When asked if the Cadbury store will be stocking another monumental chocolate item, Andrea said customers need to ‘watch this space’.
