South Holland community groups are given Co-op grants worth £10,000




Four environmental groups in South Holland have been successful in the latest round of grants from Lincolnshire Co-op's Community Champions scheme.

Long Sutton in Bloom, Gosberton Community Action Team, Holbeach in Bloom and environmental projects run by Crowland Parish Council are to share £10,000 raised by shoppers at Co-op stores across the county in the summer.

In total, nearly £160,000 was shared out to community groups and charities in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and West Norfolk.

Sam Turner, community engagement manager for Lincolnshire Co-op, said: "Now more than ever, our green spaces are important and these groups do a great job in their communities.

"Whether it is looking after parks and playing fields, or brightening up community gardens and orchards, these groups bring people together in their communities."
