Spalding’s McDonald’s restaurant refurbishment gets green light

A fast food restaurant will be refurbished after plans were given the green light.

McDonalds wants to alter its restaurant and car park in Holbeach Road, in Spalding - which has now been approved by South Holland District Council.

The global brand wants to reposition its entrance as making its shop front and drive-thru windows grey.

A small extension is going to be added to the space between the first two drive-thru booths.

New partition walls will be added to form a courier lobby and a new cleaners cupboard. An exterior wall will be added to the back of the building to form an store.

Outside, the firm wants to alter the car park spaces, remove the staff parking lettering along with signage and bollards. They are also planning to improve the white lining and add new click and serve ‘park in any numbered bay signs’.

The officers decision report states: “These works are considered to be acceptable and should not materially harm the area as they will appear in keeping with the existing restaurant and improve the quality and design throughout.”
