A1 Motor Stores is opening a second branch in Bourne in former Clintons shop

A motoring business is set to open in premises which have stood empty for two years.

Mark and Sarah Arnold will open their second branch of A1Motor Stores in North Street, Bourne, within the next few months.

The building has been empty since Clintons closed in March 2020.

The couple opened their first shop in Sleaford three years ago and are looking forward to bringing something new to Bourne.

Mark said: “We’ve had a really good response since announcing that we’ve got the keys for the new building.”

The Sleaford shop is based on an industrial estate which is a popular location for people needing car parts, but has low footfall.

Mark hopes the town centre location of the new store will attract people looking for products such as air fresheners and cleaning products.

Customers will also be able to order and collect car parts from the new shop, which will receive five deliveries a day from the Sleaford branch.

Mark said: “We thought we would give the high street a go to focus more on the retail side.

“People have told is this is something that Bourne needs, so we’re looking to it.”

There is still refurbishment work to be done, so the couple are aiming to open within two months.

Sarah will take on the role of manager and eventually hopes to employ more staff who will be able to advise customers on their needs.
