Gridlock reported on A16 between Sutterton and Surfleet

Gridlock has been reported on the A16 this morning.

Motorists have reported being at a standstill on the A16 between Sutterton and Surfleet roundabouts.

Three way traffic lights have been installed at Pinchbeck’s Greencell roundabout as part of Lincolnshire County Council’s ongoing work to improve the A16 using the £20million Levelling Up money.

Meanwhile, a bus service had to cancel one of its services from Spalding to Boston today due to the traffic issues.

A social media post from Brylaine said: “Due to traffic disruptions we are unable to run our B3X 1.25pm Spalding - Boston.

“Any passengers waiting to come back to Boston please board the 2pm B3. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

Drivers are being diverted through Surfleet and Pinchbeck, where Lincolnshire County Council also has traffic lights in place.

The roadworks on Surfleet Road are due to be lifted on December 13.
