Guerilla knitting adds colour to Holbeach

A town centre has received some much-needed colour - thanks to a yarn bombing.

The weather may be wet and miserable, but a bit of brightness could be spotted in Holbeach this morning (June 10).

Market Square, All Saints Church and the Holbeach Hub were among the sites hit by the bombing, which included some top hats, a menagerie of bears and a motif inspired by Julia Donaldson’s children’s book Room on the Broom.

Yarn bombing - also known as guerilla knitting - is a type of street art where knitted or crocheted designs are put up in public places without warning.

The identity of the Holbeach Yanksy is still unknown.
