Holbeach Halloween duck trail

Ducks will be getting the top billing in a new Halloween themed town trail.

Holbeach Parish Council will be hiding a number of Halloween dressed ducks in shop windows around the town in order to support retailers and provide free entertainment for children.

Spider Duck, Pumpkin Duck, Cauldron Duck and Devil Duck will be among the characters hidden from Saturdays, October 23 and 30.

Parish councillor Isobel Hutchinson says families who find all the ducks will get a treat from the council offices.

She said: “We want to encourage children and parents to come out over half-term week and inspire them to come back and have another look at what is on offer in the town’s high street.”

The idea was hatched after a member of the council’s events committee had a number of ducks which were offered up for decoration.

Coun Hutchinson said: “Everyone in Holbeach seems to love ducks so we thought it would be a unique thing.

“It has had a good response so far.

“The feedback we have received they are looking forward to it and really good idea.”

A tick list of ducks is available to download from the parish council’s Facebook page.

Families are then urged to wander down the high street to state which ducks can be found in which shop. Anyone who finds all the ducks will be able to go along to the offices at Coubro Chambers in West End for a sweet.
