Elderly Gosberton couple reunited with pet after Guardian appeal
A much-loved family cat is back with its elderly owners – thanks to an appeal in the Spalding Guardian.
A Gosberton couple were left heartbroken when brown female Bengal Peanuts went missing for six weeks, prompting an appeal in the Guardian and this website.
Peanuts had last been seen on February 27 when she got on a rig collecting veg from a field in Gosberton.
She was seen jumping out at Lincolnshire Field Products in Wykeham, Spalding. She was there for several days but the disappeared for three weeks.
Friends of the couple put posters up and organised search parties and the, after the article appeared in the Guardian, a family phoned one of the searchers, Kara Leighton, to say Peanuts had been visiting their garden.
A cat trap was installed and, after a week, Peanuts was returned to her loving, grateful family.
