Junior summer day camp on offer with Long Sutton Hockey Club
Long Sutton Hockey Club is hosting its first ever junior summer hockey camp.
It's on Tuesday, August 20, and is for ages 6-14 of all abilities - whether they've previously played hockey or never picked up a stick.
The camp will be held at the Peele Leisure Centre in Long Sutton and costs £15 per child.
It is described as a day of fun, competition and games. Hockey sticks can be provided or children can bring their own and they should bring a packed lunch, shin pads and gum shields.
Astros or trainers should be worn (no studs, blades or molds) and waterproofs for an activity at the end of the day.
To book for the hockey club, contact Josh Baker at baker472@btinternet.com or John Sullivan at john@bnm-it.co.uk
- The club has been holding a variety of fundraising events to help towards the replacement of the Astroturf at their Park Road base.
A recent colour run, held for the second year, raised more than £1,000 and an 80s night brought in £1,442.
The 80s night was attended by just over 130 people, many in fancy dress.
James Baker, speaking for the club, said: "I would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors who helped towards this event because without their help it wouldn’t have been able to go ahead or be such a success.
"I was helped during the day by some kind helpers and players from the club, but special thanks must go to the Braginton family, Gittins family, John Sullivan, Giles Garner and most importantly my wife and kids who not only helped but kept me sane whilst planning this event."
Music was provided by Tim Walker of Pure Vinyl and marquees provided by Sawtry Marquees and Des Ford and Shearers butchers. Food was provided by The Three Counties Deli and raffle prize money by David and Sally Hoyles.
And that's not the last of the fundraising as there are plenty more events in the pipeline.
