Trust that manages Spalding hospital is 'outstanding'
The trust that runs Spalding's Johnson Community Hospital has jumped from 'good' to 'outstanding' following its latest official inspection.
A team of Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors looked at a range of services provided by the trust, including the minor injuries unit at the town hospital.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is now rated as 'outstanding' overall.
The trust is also rated outstanding for whether its services are responsive and well-led and rated 'good' for whether its services are safe, effective and caring.
The chief Inspector of Hospitals, Professor Ted Baker, said:
“We were very pleased with the quality of care provided by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust and there were many notable examples of outstanding practice across all services."
The trust delivers a range of community-based services, including
community hospitals, minor injuries units, GP practices, GP out of hours services, sexual health, services for children, young people and families, therapies, community nursing and specialist nursing services.
The CQC says its comprehensive inspections of NHS trusts have shown a strong link between the quality of overall management of a trust and the quality of its services.
