South Holland District Council planning appeal hearing regarding Bridge Inn Caravan Park in Crowland postponed due to sickness

An appeal hearing regarding the creation of permanent travellers' spots at a caravan park has been postponed.

South Holland District Council was due to host an Informal Appeal Hearing today (Thursday) to discuss Bridge Inn Caravan Park, off Common Drove in Crowland - where site owner James O'Connor applied for five plots to be occupied permanently throughout the year in 2019.

However, the hearing has been pushed back due to 'sickness' - with the Planning Inspectorate to announce a re-arranged date in due course.

The caravan park's bid in 2019 to have travellers' pitches came 16 months after an attempt to open it up throughout the year failed.

At the time, Crowland Parish Council voiced concerns about the plans due to the caravan park lying nearly a mile outside the town centre and caravan residents having to use an "unlit, tree-lined" road in Common Drove to get to its shops.
