Police helicopter called to reports of man with handgun in Spalding
A police helicopter was dispatched to Spalding last night after reports of a man with a handgun in the town.
Officers had been called to Hall Place just after 8pm - but say they have not yet been able to trace the suspect.
The helicopter was heard circling over the town centre and western half of the town for about 45 minutes last night - before eventually leaving the area at about 9.45pm.
A force spokesman said: "We were called at 20:17 last night to Hall Place, Spalding, with a report of a group of men, one of whom was believed to have been seen with a handgun.
"We searched the area with support from NPAS (National Police Air Support). No suspect was found and so enquiries are ongoing."
