The Butchers Shop of the Year awards celebrates innovation and quality.

Mrs Chew, who celebrated her second anniversary of
buying the well-known store earlier this year, said: “I am completely overwhelmed and excited to be one of the three finalists.

“This is great for the team and myself as it recognises the hard work and effort we have put in over the last two-and-a-half years, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.”

George Adams has been listed as a finalist along with Perrys of Eccleshall and Russell’s Butchers of Shenstone, which are both in Staffordshire.

The winners are due to be announced in February during a ceremony at the Hilton Bankside in London.

Mrs Chew, who has also unveiled the team’s new uniforms this week, said:”It is a great honour and a privilege to be recognised along with being a great motivator for us.”

Over the last two years, the store has gone from strength to strength. It has had a re-brand and the introduction of a click and collect service along with selling products to prestigious names like Fortnum and Mason.

In March, the team’s Lincolnshire Game Pie, Steak Pie and the Chilli Pork Pie won awards at the National British Pie Awards.
