Holbeach newly renovated pub damaged by hit and run driver
A newly renovated pub has been damaged by a hit and run driver.
Publicans John Budworth and Martin Forward have spent thousands of pounds transforming The Crown Hotel in Holbeach in recent months.
A car reversed into the West End pub, damaging render on the Listed Building front, before driving off and not stopping on Wednesday night last week.

Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for information.
Mr Budworth said: “I was about to get into bed when I heard a loud bang and the building shook. I looked out of the window and saw the car and then they drove off.
“We have just had the front repainted and it is a Grade II listed building.”
The couple took over the pub 18 weeks ago and have busy transforming the previously run-down site.
Along with re-painting the front of the listed building, they have also bought new tables and chairs along with refurbishing the bar with new taps and glassware.
They have also opened up the fire in front bar and added another to the back room.
There are also looking to improve the rooms upstairs in the pub.
Mr Budworth said: “We have been here for 18 weeks and it was pretty grotty.
“We have improved the clientele and the building.
“This is ultimately going to become a traditional pub.”
The couple have also added to the food side of the pub by serving lunch Monday to Friday from 12-2pm and 12-3pm on weekends.
They are also planning to build on the evening food trade by serving food 6-8pm on Thursdays and Fridays with the aim of increasing this.
Mr Budworth said: “The community network and the support from locals has been tremendous.
“The atmosphere has changed and there is a really good vibe.
“There was a tradition in Holbeach of seeing in the New Year in Market Square. For the first time in a long time, we did that. We are the only pub to do that.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident last week. Call police on 101, quoting incident 10 of January 9.
