Holbeach Town Action Team were joined at their September meeting by Andrew Hawkin of the town twinning group.

Andrew talked about the recently celebrated 60 year anniversary of the twinning with Sezanne and showed some of the literature produced in the French town that really promotes Holbeach and suggested to the team that they also look to explore promoting this partnership.

All members of the Action Team were very supportive of the idea and one of the members, Coun Tracey Carter, has now spoken to one of the Friends of Sezanne Group, Roy Ward, about working together.

Coun Carter said: "I feel there is a lot we can explore, including trying to involve the schools as well as the community as a whole."

The Team thought the yearly Holbeach Food Festival may be the perfect starting point and are looking at options of possibly holding small events leading up to it.

Coun Nick Worth, who leads the festival, said: “I am very supportive of the twinning with Sezanne and look forward to seeing what we can develop for next year, linking it to the successful food festival."

The meeting also heard that team member Isobel Hutchinson has organised putting two additional new benches in the town.
