Wyberton holiday lodges site wants to open all year round
A holiday site wants to be allowed to open all year round.
Woad Mill Lakeside Lodges in Wyberton were granted planning permission in 2021 with the caveat that the site remained shut for four-and-a-half months of the year.
Owner Mr J. Padley has applied to Boston Borough Council for that caveat to be dropped on the Streetway site, attached to Wyberton House.
“Planning permission was granted in June 2021 for the above development and works are now complete on site following the discharge of all relevant conditions,” a letter by agent Robert Doughty Consultancy Ltd says.
“Condition 4 of that permission reads: No holiday lodges on the site shall be occupied between November 1 (or the following Sunday, if half terms extends into November) in any one year and March 14 in the succeeding year.
“This proposal seeks to amend the above condition to permit year-round occupation for holiday use for a temporary period until 2049.”
The reason given for the annual closure was to ‘reduce the risk of flooding to the proposed development and future occupants’.
