Fleet Hargate home to be converted into motorcycle repair, MOT testing and sales centre

Plans to transform part of a home into a motorcycle repair, MOT testing and sales centre have been approved.

Applicant B. Macro can also site a temporary office cabin at Morning Glory on Fleet Road, Fleet Hargate for business use.

“The business is proposed to operate from an existing building within the site and also from a proposed container near the southern boundary of the site,” the South Holland District Council planning officer report said.

“The site comprises a single storey bungalow with a hipped roof form.

“The bungalow is set back from the road frontage and there is an existing garage building to the rear of the dwelling.”

Part of the development will remain Mr Macro’s home.

The proposed use of the site will include motorcycle servicing, repairs, tyre fitting, and MOT testing, with proposed opening hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to midday on Saturdays.

“It is proposed that customers will access the site via appointment only,” the report added.

“As the applicant intends to live within the dwelling within the site, it would be in the applicant's interests to manage appointments effectively to avoid a build up of customers and disruption to their home.”
