Friends of Johnson Community Hospital host fayre at Pinchbeck Village Hall to raise funds for new Welland Ward TVs

Fundraisers were chuffed to bits at the success of their first event in more than two years.

The Friends of Johnson Community Hospital group held a fun-packed fayre at Pinchbeck Village Hall at the weekend - their first since before the pandemic.

Elisabeth Britten, treasurer of the Friends, helped to spearhead the event - which featured a tombola, craft stalls and a raffle drawn by district councillor Andrew Woolf.

Pinchbeck Women’s Institute provided catering, tea, coffee and cake on Saturday, while Worldwide Fruit donated a raffle prize.

About £700 was raised throughout the afternoon, which will go towards a new set of TVs for the hospital’s Welland Ward.

Friends secretary Christine Grocock said: “We’re so pleased. The hall was full - people liked the idea of it being a social event, where people could sit down on chairs, have a coffee and talk to their friends.”
