Spalding salon could be converted to housing

A town centre salon could be converted into housing if new plans are approved.

Mr R Wright wants to turn the first floor of the hairdressers salon at 2a Sheep Market into a two bedroom flat.

This site has recently been home to K Collective and previously Steffen Hair and Beauty.

The application has been lodged with South Holland District Council.

Documents accompanying the application state: “The proposals are for conversion of the first floor to residential accommodation, the only part of the accommodation at ground floor level is the foot of the access staircase at the flat entrance.

“All sleeping accommodation will be contained at first floor level which, at its lowest point, is in excess of 2.4m above surrounding ground level.”
