Holbeach All Saints Church gets five-figure grant from government

All Saints Church Holbeach has received a major boost in the form of a grant worth nearly £67,400 to carry much-needed building work.

The church, in High Street, made a successful bid for cash help from the Government's £1.57billion Culture Recovery Fund designed to safeguard the future of museums, galleries, theatres and heritage sites across Britain.

Nearly two years ago, church members at All Saints launched an appeal to raise up to £200,000 for repairs to its 14th century tower and west window.

The Rev Rosamund Seal, vicar of Holbeach, said: "As a major national church, we have been awarded £67,387 from the Cultural Recovery Fund towards the work on the tower.

"We were only allowed to obtain grant funding for one project so went for the tower first in the hope that we can use other potential grant monies towards the window project later on."
