Hundreds call for footpath along Market Way in Pinchbeck




A group of residents are hoping to use people power to make changes to a ‘terrifying’ village road.

The neighbours, who do not wish to be named, have already seen hundreds of people sign their petition to have a footpath installed along Market Way in Pinchbeck.

After growing frustrated over a series of near-misses on the road, and a lack of urgency over the issue, the residents placed their petition outside one of their properties – with hundreds already putting pen to paper.

“One day there will be an accident down there and it terrifies me,” one of the campaigners said.

“An awful lot of school kids walk along it and people with prams too. I often see them from my windows and worry.

“It’s not safe for anyone – especially kids and people walking with babies – as it’s really dangerous.”

The residents say that even more people have been using the narrow road as a walking route while Two Plank Bridge has been closed.

However, they fear that action will only be taken if someone is hurt.
