Police close investigation into collision which damaged historic Spalding pub




Police say they have closed the investigation into the crash which has damaged a historic pub.

The force has now confirmed that a BMW and a Renault Clio were involved in the collision which left a hole in The White Horse pub in Spalding yesterday.

Crews from Spalding and Donington attended the scene in Churchgate, along with police and two ambulances – and cut free one casualty.

A police spokesman said there have been on arrests and the incident has been closed.

She said: “This collision involved a BMW and a Renault Clio. Two women drivers, both in their 30s suffered minor injuries.”

The roads surrounding The White Horse, Churchgate, Church Street and High Street, were closed for several hours yesterday as a result of the crash, which was reported to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue just before 10am.

Owners, Samuel Smith’s Brewery, have been urged to return the building to its ‘original and safe’ condition by South Holland District Council.
