Investigation continues into cause of ‘severe’ fire in Moulton Chapel which required a big response from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue




Eight fire engines were called upon to tackle a severe fire at an agricultural building.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is still trying to work out what caused a major incident in Moulton Chapel yesterday (Wednesday).

Its crews were called to West Gate to tackle a blaze that led firefighters to ask residents to close their windows and doors and to avoid the area where possible.

This morning, the service reveal that it deployed two breathing apparatus, four hose reel jets, one main jet, two thermal imaging cameras and an aerial appliance used as a water tower in response.

A spokesman said: “The incident resulted in severe fire damage to the whole of an agricultural building and its contents. There was also heat damage to surrounding buildings.

“There was an initial fire investigation last night which did not determine a cause, we have a re-inspection due to take place this morning.”
