South Holland public asked to join new 'County Views' panel
A new public forum is being set up across Lincolnshire to assess and improve services for the people who live here.
The planned "County Views" panel will be made up of residents who will be asked to take part in online surveys or polls, as well as face-to-face meeting, to come up with ideas on how the county could be better run.
Lincolnshire County Council is behind the idea as a way of helping it serve council tax payers and their families better.
Coun Martin Hill, leader of Lincolnshire County Council, said: "We are always striving to provide good, value-for-money services for all our residents.
"To do that, we really need to know what you think, particularly if you feel we could be doing something differently or better.
"We are asking residents from across the county to get involved and it would be totally up to you, as a member, to choose what you take part in and how we contact you.
"We want to make sure we can hear your views, without taking up too much of your time."
The residents' panel is a joint venture between the councils in Greater Lincolnshire to help understand issues that matter, develop local priorities, evaluate services and identify ways to improve in the future.
Those involved in the panel will get the chance to test out and develop their ideas for services in the county, such as adult social care, roads and transport, education and the environment.
Coun Hill said: "A few months ago, we asked residents for their comments about our future plans for dementia.
"We heard from people who live with dementia, their families and carers, and they made really practical suggestions which we have now adopted.
"We have also made improvements in early diagnosis and now support more residents who are living with dementia.
"Your views and comments really make a difference so please join us and help shape the future of the county."
