It started with a kiss for Spalding diamond wedding couple
A special song, It Started with a Kiss, greeted diamond wedding couple Tony and Edie Woolsey at a big family celebration on Saturday night.
The song sums up the start of the deep seated love that has endured throughout their marriage.
Tony (79) said: "We have lived a good life together and we have been very, very happy.
"I love Edie more now than I did when we first married because you bond together."
Tony and Edie (78) met after they were introduced by a friend of Edie's in 1956, and married three years later at Littleworth Church on March 28.
Both are from Spalding and Tony, who is of Romany descent, can trace his ancestors back over several centuries.
He said: "The Woolsey family has lived in Spalding since the year 1711 - we are one of the oldest families in Spalding."
Tony, who served in The Parachute Regiment, spent most of his working life as a lorry driver.
Edie worked in the food packing industry.
The couple have created their own dynasty with two sons, three daughters, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Saturday's party at The Woodlands Hotel gave their family a chance to spring little surprises including a replica of Edie's wedding bouquet and live music from Just the Two Of Us, a duo the couple grew to love at Spalding Services Club.
Granddaughter Natasha Marshall said the couple's special song reminds them of when they first met.
She described her grandparents as "always there" for their family, adding:"They just make me proud to be their granddaughter."
Tony says the secret to a long and happy marriage is doing things together.
"We love Spain," said Tony. "We have been over 40 times to Benidorm."
