Bourne trader's fears of an accident due to 9m long puddle is gnome joke
A trader is hoping to raise awareness of the dangers created by a 9metre long puddle in Bourne by leaving ducks and gnomes in front of it.
Lee Black, who runs Modnink, is concerned that an accident will happen in South Street because people are avoiding using the crossing due to the puddle.
Mr Black, who has seen an incident involving mobility scooter and a school child, says the problem is caused by a blocked drain and has been going on for a year - but no-one is taking responsibility.
He said: "Someone is going to get hit - it is inevitable.
"People are no longer using the crossing because they can't walk through this puddle - it's 6in deep and 9 metres long."
To highlight the issue in a fun way, Mr Black has left rubber ducks on the puddle and even a life jacket.
Today he has placed gnomes next to the puddle with a note highlighting the problem.
