Fleet man wins Christmas lights competition

A villager received a pleasant surprise after winning a festive lights competition.

Jason Winter has been named the Fleet Christmas Lights winner but he wasn’t aware that his display had been entered into the competition

Fleet councillor Paul Barnes said Jason was a ‘worthy winner’ and added: “He was bit surprised - as his wife entered his display without telling him!”

Coun Barnes said: “"Thank you to all those who took the trouble to enter this free competition - and although several others impressed with their displays the judges had to concentrate on those who had registered their houses.

“Overall, I think Fleet Parish has put on a fantastic display this year and I look forward to seeing what can be done in 2025 as I am sure the competition will return next year."

Coun Barnes went onto present Jason with a hamper which included a number of festive treats - including a packet of stuffing!
