South Holland District Council's jobs fair is set to make its in-person return in November

An in-person South Holland jobs fair will be held this month - the first since the beginning of the pandemic.

South Holland District Council are working alongside the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP to host the event, which will be held at the Marquee Room at Springfields Exhibition Centre in Spalding.

It will offer visitors the opportunity to speak to around 25 employers and training providers from a wide range of industries in the area.

They will be taught about different training and development opportunities available, as well as receiving support if they are thinking of starting their own business.

The employers and training providers attending the event will include Worldwide Fruit, Bakkavor, Morrisons Abattoir, Dalehead, Country Court Care, Integrity Plus, Army Reserves, Karsten, Frankie and Benny's, RAS Care, Spalding Jobcentre, Boston College, National Careers service and Steadfast Training.

Councillor Nick Worth, South Holland District Council deputy leader and portfolio holder for growth and commercialisation, said: "We're really pleased that we're able to put on important events like the South Holland Jobs Fair in-person again, following what has been a difficult period for so many workers.

"The event should be a great opportunity to bring employers and potential employees together, which is especially important after the impact that Covid-19 has had on the economy, both locally and across the country.

"Although we were able to run successful virtual jobs fairs during the pandemic using our social media channels, there is no substitution for the opportunity to speak face-to-face with businesses and training providers and see if they are the right fit for your next career or development opportunity."

The fair will take place on Friday, November 12, from 10am-2pm.
