Pinchbeck Kids Club making ‘good progress’, inspectors say
A friendly kids’ club is making ‘good progress’, inspectors say.
Pinchbeck Kids’ Club was found the meet the quality and standards of early years provision, according to an Ofsted report published on November 14.
This comes after the previous inspection, carried out last December, found the club failed to meet expected standards.
Pinchbeck Kids Club – which is independently run from Pinchbeck East Primary School – has 96 children on roll and can offer places for up to 36 youngsters.
“Good progress has been made since the last inspection,” the report said.
Inspectors found the kids’ club to be friendly and that children and staff interact ‘very positively’.
“Staff and children share good relationships, which foster a very positive atmosphere in the club,” the report added.
“The key-person system is effective in ensuring children are supported and settled in the club. Staff get to know the children and their families well.
“Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported appropriately. Staff work with parents and school staff to ensure all children's individual needs are met.”
The report added staff promote children's good health, parents ‘speak highly of the club and the staff’ and that safeguarding arrangements are ‘effective’.
The report also pointed out areas which could be improved, adding: “The manager reflects on areas for improvement in the club.
“She has recently identified that communication with parents could be enhanced and has plans to achieve this.
“The manager has also recognised that the older children who attend the club are not always as engaged with the activities as the younger children.
“The manager and staff intend to improve how they consult with older children about what they would like at the club.”
