Hard-working pupils and staff recognised
Kirton Primary School has been shortlisted for the TES Schools Awards 2018 in the Science, Technology, Engineering Teacher or Team of the Year category on June 22.
Executive Headteacher Nicky Donley said the school is thrilled by the news.
“Qualification has been a whole school effort,” she said. “With every teacher and teaching assistant embracing the challenge to place the teaching of science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the top of the agenda. We have done this in a practical and exciting way in order to enthuse and motivate the children.
“We have grown the tallest sunflowers, designed the fastest paper aeroplanes, fed the hungriest birds, and hatched the cutest chicks. Our children not only love science, they thrive and excel on the experiences we give them.”
