Spalding Parish Church sets up book of condolence for Prince Philip
Spalding Parish Church has opened up a book of condolence for Prince Philip - and will be open later this evening for people in the town to go and pay their respects.
The Duke of Edinburgh died today aged 99, prompting a flurry of tributes from people across South Holland.
The Parish Church is staying open until 7.30pm for anyone wanting to say a prayer and write in its book of condolence.
Rev John Bennett said: “We give thanks to God for the life of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He showed his devotion to this country and his love for the Queen in a life of service.”
The church is normally open for private prayer from 9.30am and 4.30pm.
People are asked to sanitise their hands before and after writing in the book due to Covid.
