How 'Green' are they really?!
Having received the Green Party leaflet it surprised me that they would get them printed and delivered from outside the area! Surely if they are truly green the carbon cost of getting them delivered to South Holland and distributed should have been considered. Alongside this they haven’t supported local businesses, there are many printers in South Holland and I am curious how they have overlooked them. I am now wondering whether they were even printed on recycled paper!

RELIEF ROAD PLAN
Some want no road at all
I write regarding Coun Richard Davies's comments about the central section of the so-called relief road.
He quotes last months survey result as:-
39% preferred a western alignment;
37% preferred an alternative option;
24% preferred an eastern alignment.
Why has Coun Davies made no reference to all of the people who preferred no relief road at all?
Does he still not realise that many local people feel very strongly about this developer-driven monstrosity?
Why have LCC and SHDC held no public consultations with the impacted residents since the alignment of the northern and southern sections was announced?
Having been forced back to the drawing board, Coun Davies, is it not now time to end all of the deceit?
The local pressure group SPARR has been instrumental in bringing about this re-think, with valued support from Sir John Hayes MP, along with councillors Angela Newton, Elizabeth Sneath, & James Avery.
It is a great shame that more councillors cannot support the wishes of the people that they claim to serve.
I wonder if the LCC hierarchy would be prepared to actually visit the site of the northern section to witness the beautiful countryside that they are planning to decimate?
The range of wildlife in this area is truly amazing and it attracts many people with their cameras and binoculars.
Another point is that the planners do not appear to have acknowledged the presence of badger setts. I have been informed by several people that badgers have been seen in the area this year. Badgers are a protected species and it is illegal to disturb them or destroy their setts and their grazing areas.
It seems to me that this whole road scheme has been designed to cause the maximum inconvenience and heartache to the residents, to the detriment of the town as a whole.
If the northern section (cul-de-sac) is built, along with thousands of new houses, it will lead to thousands of additional vehicles spilling onto the already congested Spalding to Pinchbeck Road.
Of course, they will first have to cross the proposed railway bridge, possible the highest, longest, ugliest structure imaginable. Thankfully, it is not directly in front of my property, but it will put plenty of my neighbours behind a huge concrete wall.
When Spalding/Pinchbeck Road eventually becomes a full-blown car park, I wonder if LCC planners and some of our local councillors will still be bleating "what a good job we have done, how clever are we"?
