Lidl submits preliminary plans for new Market Deeping supermarket

A budget supermarket has taken the next step in establishing a new store in Market Deeping.

Lidl has submitted a planning application to South Kesteven District Council, just a month after announcing it was looking for a site in the town.

The German supermarket giant, which has 860 stores in Britain, has requested an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) screening opinion for the erection of a foodstore in Peterborough Road.

A screening opinion allows developers to find out whether an EIA is required before they submit a full planning application.

A provisional site plan is based on a 10,801sqm site between Towngate Mews and the bypass.

It includes 129 parking spaces and a 1,414sqm shop floor.
