Manufacturer calls for an end to panic-buying

Princes Group, whose largest UK based production site is situated in Long Sutton, has asked shoppers to consider refraining from stockpiling canned goods in the interests of their loved ones.

In a statement released today (Wednesday, March 18), the manufacturer stressed the importance of consideration for others at a time when there is high demand for food.

The statement reads: "Our manufacturing output has significantly increased based on the unprecedented levels of demand we are experiencing and we remain in constant contact with customers and our supply chain.

"Princes operations and supply chain is robust, but short notice extreme spikes in demand are challenging to meet, not least in terms of transport and vehicle availability."

The statement continued: "We would ask people to be considerate in making purchases and think of their family and friends, and the wider community, when shopping in store.

"We very much appreciate the confidence our customers have in Princes and the invaluable support and dedication of our colleagues who are working incredibly hard to make sure we continue to help families eat well during this crisis."
