Helen leads Long Sutton workshops
Budding writers are being invited to hone their craft at a series of creative writing workshops taking place in Long Sutton.
Science fiction and fantasy author Helen Claire Gould, from Peterborough, is leading the monthly sessions at Long Sutton Library, Trafalgar Square, where she will be covering topics including storytelling, characterisation, building a believable world as well as aspects of self-publishing and marketing your finished work.
The first introductory session took place earlier this month, but Helen, who has published works including Floodtide, The Stallion and She…, is keen for more people to come along and join in the course which is set to cover 15 more sessions.
“The course is suitable for any writer over the age of 16 and is a great opportunity for those who have written before, or those who are just starting out, to learn how to write and self-publish,” said Helen, who has previously run similar courses at Spalding Library.
“The sessions take place in an informal setting, with helpful friendly guidance, lots of practice and a mixture of small group and individual work to build confidence.”
The next workshop is on from 3.15pm to 5.45pm on Monday, October 29. Each session costs £10.
