Jerry Green Dog Rescue looks for a home for lurcher April - and appeals for runners to join its team for Big Green Scunthorpe 10k

In this week's Man's Best Friend column, Jerry Green Dog Rescue looks for a home for lurcher April and contestants for its charity 10k team...

Hello everyone, my name is April. I am the sweetest girl who is looking for a calm and understanding home.

I cannot remember ever living in a home, so I need some help building confidence in indoor spaces. I may be able to have another doggy friend to live with as long as they are a similar age and have a calm temperament.

We also need to make sure we get along, so I may need a few visits at the centre first before I move in!

I would prefer not to live with any small animals or birds, as I find them fun to chase. I can be worried by new people at first but I build up bonds quickly and I really like tasty treats. Once I get to know you I am the most affectionate girl!

Because I am not used to being in a home, I would love my new owners to be around most of the time but once I am settled I could potentially cope with being left for a couple of hours.

A few other important things to know are that I may need some help with house training - but I promise that I will try to pick it up quickly - and I would like to live with children aged 14 and over.

It would be amazing if I can have access to a secure garden, which would be very helpful with my house training and give me a chance to run and stretch my legs in the morning!

If you think I am the loving lurcher for you then please call my friends at South Lincs on 01205 260546 or email slincs@jerrygreendogs.org.uk.
