Essex man accused of being responsible for £100k cannabis found in Spalding property




A man accused of being responsible for £100,000 worth of cannabis discovered at a Spalding property has been sent for crown court trial.

Appearing before Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday last week, Aleksandras Zacharovas pleaded not guilty to four charges in connection with the find by police on February 7.

He is accused of producing cannabis between November 6 last year and February 8, possession with intent supply the class B controlled drug on February 7, dishonestly using electricity for the grow, and possession of criminal property, namely £2,460 in cash.

The court was told 66 flowering cannabis buds worth up to £55,440 were found along with six bags of cannabis worth up to £45,890.

Zacharovas, 32, was arrested at the scene.

The bench declined jurisdiction on the case and sent it to Lincoln Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on August 23.

The defendant, of Lullington Road, Dagenham, Essex, had his conditional bail extended.

He has already complied with one condition to surrender his passport and must continue to report to Spalding Police Station every Tuesday.
