Spalding man found with about £140,000 in cash will be sent for trial at Lincoln Crown Court




A Spalding resident accused of dealing with about £140,000 cash, which was criminal property, has been sent for trial.

Alexandru Tanase (39), of The Wende, is charged with acquiring a credit balance of £140,680.04 in a NatWest account on April 19, 2021.

He is also accused of making a series of bank transfers to various recipients amounting to £137,202 between April 18 and April 24 that year.

And a third charge says Tanase transferred criminal property, namely £4,700, by a bank transaction to Express Remit Ltd on April 20.

The defendant made a first appearance before Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. He did not indicate pleas to any of the charges.

The next hearing in the case will be at Lincoln Crown Court on February 22.
