A man has admitted placing a bottle containing vinegar and hydrochlorite bleach outside a Spalding pub to make others believe it would explode or ignite.

Jay Savage (30) appeared at Lincoln Crown Court and pleaded guilty to a charge of placing an article outside the Lincolnshire Poacher pub on November 13 last year.

The particulars of the charge specify that Savage placed a bottle containing vinegar and hydrochlorite bleach outside the pub to induce others to believe it would explode or ignite causing personal injury or criminal damage.

Savage, of no fixed address, also pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm to Joey Laws on November 2, 2022.

There was no application for an updated probation report on Savage.

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight remanded Savage into custody and he will be sentenced on December 1 at Lincoln Crown Court.

"I am remanding you into custody on all matters so you are serving your sentence already," Judge Sjolin Knight told Savage.

"It is just a question of how long it is going to be at the end."
